Heike Tiensch, M.Ed., CCC-SLP

Speech Language Pathologist

Heike graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a B.Ed. M.Ed. She has over 20 years of experience working with children in a private practice setting.

Her specialties include: oral-motor, feeding, apraxia, articulation, and language impairments. Her training includes: NDT, PROMPT, Hanan, Nancy Kaufman and Sarah Johnson-Rosenfeld (Talk Tools).

Jodie Holleman McCarty, M.S., CCC-SLP

Speech Language Pathologist

Jodie received a B.S. in Communication Disorders from Florida State University in 1998. She received her M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology from Lamar University in 2000. Jodie has over 13 years of clinical experience in a variety of settings including schools, hospitals, and private practice. She has provided assessment and therapeutic intervention to a diverse population including Autism, Down Syndrome, auditory processing disorders, developmental apraxia of speech, dysarthria, fluency disorders, traumatic brain injury, dysphagia, voice disorders, and cri du chat. She is licensed by the American-Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the Texas Board of Examiners in Speech-Language Pathology. Jodie is dedicated to improving the lives of children by improving their communication skills. She strongly believes that collaboration with other professionals involved in a patient’s intervention is essential to creating a successful plan of care for each individual child. 

Lauren Lingenfelder, M.S., CCC-SLP

Speech Language Pathologist

Lauren received her B.A. in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 2004 from Baylor University. She received her M.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 2005 from Baylor University and is licensed by the American Speech Language Hearing Association and the Texas Board of Examiners in Speech Language Pathology. Lauren has 11 years of clinical experience in a variety of settings including home health with early childhood intervention, outpatient clinics, and public schools. She has expertise in the areas of speech, language, and oral motor, sensory, and behavioral feeding therapy. Lauren believes in addressing the individual needs of each child with a family centered approach and collaboration with multiple disciplines to achieve the best possible plan of care.

Elizabeth Frost, M.S., CCC-SLP

Speech Language Pathologist

Liz received her B.S. from Utah State University and her M.S. from Northern Arizona University and has been working in the field of Speech Language Pathology since 2007.  Liz has worked in public schools, outpatient clinics, and private practice. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Hearing Association and a Texas License in Speech Language Pathology.

She has completed specialized continuing education course work courses in oral motor and early childhood language. She took time between her undergraduate and Master’s degree to teach English in Taiwan where she was trained in using duolingual education methodology.

Maria Estella Varela, LPT

Physical Therapist

Maria graduated from University of Rosario in 1986. She began her private practice in Colombia for four years exclusively in pediatrics. In 1990, she continued her practice in the United States of America in various areas, including neurology, cerebral palsy, spinal injuries, amputations, orthopedics, and pediatrics. In the last ten years, she has focused on pediatrics in hospital settings, in-home services, and school systems. Maria has practiced in extensive trainings including NDT, myofascial release, mobilization techniques, Masgutoga Method; Visual Techniques; Brain Gym; yoga; casts in series and taping techniques;  splints for lower limb and postural support; cervical collars, elastic support for trunk and extremities, and  fabrication of inserts. She counts on the active participation of a multi-disciplinary group and the use of appropriate selected techniques for each individual patient.
